1. Preamble and Acceptance

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the WikiCibo platform, available at wikicibo.com, managed by HUMANTE s.r.l.s., with registered office at Via Enna 2, 10154 Turin (TO), Italy, VAT IT11424460019.

WikiCibo is an Italian food editorial portal that narrates the stories of artisan producers, restaurateurs and territories through guides, recipes and verified profiles. WikiCibo is NOT a marketplace and does NOT manage commercial transactions between users.

By accessing, registering or using WikiCibo in any form, the user declares to have read, understood and fully accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the platform.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

  • Platform / Service: the WikiCibo website (wikicibo.com) and all its subdomains and related services
  • Controller: HUMANTE s.r.l.s., owner and manager of the Platform
  • User: any person who accesses the Platform (visitor, producer, restaurateur, operator)
  • Visitor: any person who browses the Platform without registration
  • Producer: artisan food or agricultural producer with a registered profile on WikiCibo
  • Restaurateur: restaurant or catering business with a registered profile on WikiCibo
  • Operator: internal WikiCibo editorial staff authorised to manage the admin area
  • Editorial Content: guides, recipes, articles and all material produced by the WikiCibo editorial team
  • Plan: subscription or paid package granting additional visibility on the Platform
  • AI Content: texts and descriptions generated via artificial intelligence integrated into the Platform

3. Object of Service

WikiCibo is an Italian food editorial platform that allows artisan producers and selected restaurants to create verified profiles and reach consumers, tourists and food enthusiasts. The service offered includes:

  • Free consultation of guides, recipes, producer and restaurant profiles
  • Creation of a verified profile for producers and restaurateurs, with optional paid promotion
  • Publication of editorial content curated by the WikiCibo editorial team
  • Search by region, category and type of product or venue
  • Newsletter with editorial updates and promotions
  • Tools for AI-assisted content generation for registered users
WikiCibo is an editorial directory, NOT a marketplace. The platform does not manage, guarantee or act as intermediary for commercial transactions between producers/restaurants and end consumers.

The Controller reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue Platform features at any time, notifying registered users with at least 15 days' notice except in cases of force majeure.

4. Registration and Account

4.1 Access requirements

Registration is open to Producers and Restaurateurs operating in the Italian food sector. To register you must:

  • Provide truthful, accurate and up-to-date information
  • Have an Italian VAT number and operate in the food & beverage sector
  • Fully accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy

4.2 Profile verification

Each profile is subject to verification by the WikiCibo team before publication. The Controller reserves the right to refuse or revoke registration in the case of false information, violations of these Terms or activity incompatible with the purpose of the Platform.

4.3 Account security

The registered user is responsible for the confidentiality of their access credentials and all activities carried out via their account. Sharing credentials with third parties is prohibited. In the event of unauthorised access, notify the Controller immediately at info@wikicibo.com. Each entity may maintain only one account.

5. Platform Content

5.1 Editorial content

Editorial content (guides, recipes, articles, regional insights) is produced by the WikiCibo editorial team and is the exclusive property of HUMANTE s.r.l.s. WikiCibo verifies profiles before publication but does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of content entered directly by Producers and Restaurateurs.

5.2 User-generated content

Users who publish content on the Platform warrant that:

  • Content is truthful, accurate and not misleading
  • Content does not infringe third-party rights (trademarks, copyright, privacy)
  • Content does not contain unlawful, offensive, defamatory or indecent material
  • Uploaded images are owned by the user or legitimately licensed for use
  • Descriptions of products or venues do not make false or misleading advertising claims

The Controller reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms without prior notice, and to report violations to the competent authorities where required by law.

6. User Obligations

6.1 Obligations of Producers and Restaurateurs

  • Publish truthful, complete and law-compliant profiles
  • Declare only qualifications, certifications and awards actually held
  • Keep profile information and contact details up to date
  • Not use the Platform for purposes unrelated to the promotion of their business
  • Comply with applicable food labelling and advertising regulations

6.2 Conduct prohibited for all users

The following is expressly prohibited:

  • Sharing illegal, obscene, defamatory, discriminatory or violent content
  • Making false or misleading claims about products, venues or certifications
  • Attempting to access systems, data or accounts not belonging to the user
  • Performing scraping, reverse engineering or automated mass data extraction activities
  • Creating false or multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or restrictions
  • Using the Platform to collect personal data of other users without consent
  • Sending spam or unsolicited commercial communications via the Platform
  • Using WikiCibo content for commercial purposes without prior written authorisation

7. Plans and Subscriptions

WikiCibo offers paid visibility plans for Producers and Restaurateurs. The plans currently available are described on the Plans page of the Platform. The essential characteristics are:

  • Free: free basic profile, 1 product/dish, no additional visibility — free for life
  • Premium: monthly fee — full profile, extended products, verified badge, additional features
  • Featured: monthly fee — everything in Premium plus highlighted positioning and editorial guides
  • Sponsored: one-off fee — dedicated article, social media distribution, defined duration

7.1 Renewal and cancellation

Monthly paid plans renew automatically unless cancelled by the day before expiry via account settings or by writing to info@wikicibo.com. Price changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice. In the absence of cancellation within the deadline, the subscription will renew at the price in force at the time of renewal.

7.2 Refunds

Payments are not refundable for already-billed periods, except as required by applicable mandatory law. All prices are VAT-inclusive. The Controller may evaluate refunds in exceptional cases at its sole discretion.

7.3 Promotional codes

Promotional codes are personal, non-transferable and subject to specific conditions indicated at the time of issue. The Controller reserves the right to revoke benefits in the event of improper use.

8. Payments

Payments for plans are managed via certified PCI-DSS providers (Stripe, PayPal or bank transfer). WikiCibo does not store credit/debit card details. By paying, the user accepts the terms and conditions of the payment provider chosen.

In the event of payment failure or chargeback, the Controller reserves the right to suspend the paid plan and downgrade the account to the Free tier pending resolution. Recurring invoicing to the payment method registered at the time of subscription.

9. Artificial Intelligence

WikiCibo integrates artificial intelligence tools (Anthropic API — Claude model) to assist registered users in generating editorial content, SEO descriptions and translations.

  • AI-generated content is provided as support and does not replace the professional judgement of the user
  • The user is responsible for verifying the accuracy and suitability of AI-generated content before publication
  • The Controller does not guarantee that AI-generated content is error-free or suited to specific commercial purposes
  • No personally identifiable data (name, email, phone, billing data) is transmitted to Anthropic systems
  • Use of AI for illegal, defamatory or fraudulent purposes is expressly prohibited
  • Each AI use is logged for internal monitoring purposes (metadata only: type, tokens, estimated cost)

10. Intellectual Property

The WikiCibo platform and all editorial content (guides, recipes, texts, graphics, logo, brand identity) are the exclusive property of HUMANTE s.r.l.s. and are protected by Italian and European copyright law. Any reproduction, distribution or commercial use without prior written authorisation from the Controller is prohibited. Sharing direct links to Platform pages is permitted.

Content submitted by Producers and Restaurateurs (descriptions, images, product data) remains their property. However, by uploading it to the Platform, the user grants the Controller a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, display, distribute and promote such content on the Platform and its associated social channels for the duration of the contract. The user guarantees they hold the rights to the uploaded content.

11. Limitation of Liability

The Controller is not liable for:

  • The accuracy, completeness or currency of content entered directly by Producers and Restaurateurs
  • Service interruptions due to force majeure, scheduled maintenance or technical failures of third-party infrastructure
  • Indirect damages, loss of data or loss of earnings arising from use of or inability to use the Platform
  • Commercial transactions between users and producers/restaurants that take place outside the Platform
  • Content on third-party websites linked via external links
  • Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content
  • Actions taken by competent authorities (e.g. removal of content pursuant to legal obligations)

The Platform is provided "as is". The Controller's maximum liability for damages attributable to it is limited to the fees paid by the user in the 12 months preceding the damaging event, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Account Suspension and Closure

12.1 Suspension by the Controller

The Controller reserves the right to suspend or close the account of any user, with or without prior notice, in the event of:

  • Violation of these Terms or Platform policies
  • Provision of false or misleading information during registration or subsequently
  • Harmful, offensive or dangerous conduct towards other users or third parties
  • Use of the Platform for illegal or unauthorised purposes
  • Non-payment of amounts due
  • Repeated or serious violations of content rules

12.2 Voluntary closure

The user may request closure of their account at any time by writing to info@wikicibo.com. In the event of closure, the data will be processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable legal retention obligations.

13. Force Majeure

The Controller is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, network outages, power cuts, government acts, cyberattacks or failures of third-party providers. In such cases, the Controller undertakes to restore the service as quickly as possible and to keep registered users informed.

14. Changes to Terms

The Controller reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes are published on this page with the date of update. In the case of substantial changes, registered users will be informed by email or via a Platform notice with a minimum of 15 days' advance notice.

Continued use of the Platform after the changes come into force constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not accept the changes, you have the right to withdraw within the 15-day notice period without penalty.

15. Privacy and Cookie Policy

The processing of users\' personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy available on the Platform, drawn up pursuant to EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended. Use of the Platform implies acceptance of the Privacy Policy.

WikiCibo uses an internal anonymous visitor tracking system and technical session cookies. Details on cookie categories, retention periods and user rights are set out in the Privacy Policy.

16. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. For any dispute arising from the use of the Platform, the parties undertake first to attempt an amicable resolution. In the absence of agreement, the exclusive court of jurisdiction is that of Turin, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection provisions.

For consumer users pursuant to Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Consumer Code), the protections provided by Italian and EU law apply, including the right to use the European ODR platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
